Course: Whiting Bay Golf Club
Location: Whiting Bay, Isle of Arran
Brief description: Wherever you play on Arran there are great views. Whiting Bay is no exception, sitting on its elevated, sloping site. At 4,100 yards it uses a number of features to create its challenge: trees, hollows, slopes, elevated tees and greens and healthy rough.
What to expect of the course: Golf on Arran is a great and varied experience. Whiting Bay more than plays its part in making an Arran golf trip memorable.
Set on a sloping site, overlooking the Clyde Estuary and Ayrshire coast, Whiting Bay could be described as ‘quirky’. Good shot-shaping and shot placement are required. Accurate and considered approach shots are essential to greens usually in good condition. And the views!
What to expect of the overall visit: The club is a most welcoming and friendly place with loyal, proud members. It might be seen as a challenging walk but well worth it. It can be played as nine holes using holes 1 -4 and 14 - 18.
From the car park head to the clubhouse where a full array of F&B will be available. The club also has a wee shop. Buggies can be hired to help with those climbs.
A thoroughly friendly place……and did I mention those views?
