Turnhouse

 Course : Turnhouse Golf Club.

 Location:  Edinburgh

Brief description:  Situated close to Edinburgh Airport, this course, formerly Lennie Hill, has recently celebrated its 125th year. Ample parking and great practice facilities complement this parkland course. Check in at the Pro shop which faces the 18th green.

What to expect of the course:  Not a long course, but it will challenge you. If you can play to your handicap here you’ve done well. Score on the first 6, steady on middle 6 and hold your nerve on the last 6 is good advice. There are a fair number of blind holes but equally and particularly on the back nine, some beautiful golf holes. There is however a tough finish with the  17th, a 250 yard, blind par 3 where most will need driver irrespective of the wind direction, and hope for no wore than a par 5 at last hole, which has become tighter than it once was with the introduction of new trees.

What to expect of the overall visit:  You will enjoy the challenges of the golf course and the comfort of the clubhouse. Blind tee shots, drivable par 4's and lovely par 3’s make for an interesting round.
