St Andrews - Old Course

Course:  Old Course, St Andrews – est 1400s

 

Location: Fife

 

Brief description: The most famous golf course in the world. Designed by nature the course is set on linksland from the town out towards the Eden Estuary then back to the town. Some modification made from the 1850s first by Allan Robertson then later by Old Tom Morris. 

   

What to expect of the course: Par 72 the course has 2 par 5s and 2 par 3s and can stretch to around 7300 yards for The Open. The course has huge greens of which 7 are double greens. Over 100 bunkers and uneven lies tests even the very best golfers. Such is the history of the place standing on the 1st tee creates a unique experience which you will feel at no other golf course in the world. A MUST PLAY for every golfer at least once in your life.

   

What to expect of the overall visit: Report to the Starter beside the first tee. Soak up the atmosphere you will remember this round forever. Play the course which is the favourite of Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods – so the 2 best players who ever played the game can’t be wrong!!!
