Scotscraig

Course:    Scotscraig Golf Club

Location:   Tayport, Fife

Brief description:  Set in the seaside village of Tayport, this course sits across the Tay from Broughty Ferry and not far from St Andrews. Park in a generous area on the opposite side of the road to the club or use on street parking nearby and report into the Pro shop before playing. The course is within a housing area so don't think you've taken a wrong turning when you drive through suburbia to get there.

What to expect of the course: The course is not by the sea and view of the sea (River Tay) are rare, save for perhaps the 16th green. It's a combination of links and parkland. It looks and feels like links for most of the course but is best described as 'linksy'. It is never really parkland either as it holds onto part links on the holes that are a wee bit different. It's a relatively compact course but has some outstanding golf holes. The front nine is outstanding and the back nine is where you'll find the holes that are not quite links holes. That said, it is a tremendous golf course, easy to walk and great to play.

What to expect of the overall visit: The clubhouse looks like a golf clubhouse should. It has a modern attitude despite its older appearance, and there is a good bit of history on show as you enter the clubhouse. A warm welcome awaits in this bustling and popular club.
