Scoonie

Course:    Scoonie Golf Club

Location:   Leven, Fife

Brief description:  Scoonie is laid out across the upper flat raised beach above Leven Links. It is parkland in nature. 5,500 yards. (35 out and 32 back in.) a municipal course under the care of the excellent Fife Golf Trust. (FGT)

What to expect of the course: Scoonie should not be thought of as a second class citizen to its prestigious neighbours. It is a good course offering challenges to all golfers. Views can be enjoyed both out to sea and inland too. It is quite short but accuracy is required before brute strength. The course is kept in great condition and the club is quite rightly proud of itself.

What to expect of the overall visit: Good car parking greets visitors. A short walk takes you to the small, but perfectly formed, pro shop. Its staff pride themselves in the service, advice and help they give. The modern clubhouse is a very friendly place where good F&B can be enjoyed. In defence of Scoonie, and municipal courses in general, there is a lot to be admired about their quality of product in these challenging times.
