Prestonfield

Course:    Prestonfield Golf Club

Location:   Edinburgh

Brief description:  Under the north face of Arthur Seat this inner city club is easy to access. Lots of parking though when the car park is full on street parking can be difficult. A modernised clubhouse with a fine menu and commanding views over the course.

What to expect of the course: A very gradual rise from the clubhouse on the 1st leads to a short par 3 before turning downhill on the ribbed fairway of the 3rd. After that the course is pretty flat until the 17th. It can feel a wee bit of a trudge if its wet or damp, mainly due to to the course being quite long and flat. Don't underestimate flat for easy, as it's not, but it does offer lots of opportunities amongst more challenging holes.

What to expect of the overall visit: An enjoyable golf course with a lovely clubhouse. Good value for money and equally good value in the clubhouse.
