Course: Portmahomack Tarbat Golf Club
Location: Portmahomack, Ross-shire
Brief description: A nine hole links with two sets of tees in the lovely town of Portmahomack. Undulating and linksey, at full length 5200 yards. Perhaps take care on the front nine, then play with more freedom on the back nine.
What to expect of the course: The course has two par threes and no par fives. Some greens are drivable but with discretion as the rough can be penal. The 7th and 16th are two separate holes played once. The 8th is a great hole with a rumpled fairway and raised green. Arguably the best holes are the last five over undulating terrain.
What to expect of the overall visit: Everything matches at Portmahomack. A lovely wee car park, a lovely straightforward clubhouse, a genuinely friendly welcome and a bonny seaside golf course. Take Portmahomack for what it is and accept it and you will really enjoy the course, your visit and the views.
