Old Ranfurly

Course:    Old Course Ranfurly Golf Club.

Location:   Bridge of Weir. PA11 3DE

Brief description:  A mixture of parkland and moorland, this 18 hole course will ask many questions of players. Its front nine is longer and the course has been described as ‘Quixotic’.

What to expect of the course: As a first time visitor, players will find some of Old Course Ranfurly both puzzling and frustrating. But it is a very good test of golf and extremely well kept and welcoming. There are at least ten holes where blind tee shots are required but this is only a problem for squint hitters. The closing four holes are challenging and puzzle many, but they are what they are- ‘get on with them.’

What to expect of the overall visit: You will be greeted by ample car parking and a wee walk uphill to the clubhouse to check in. The clubhouse is very comfortable and welcoming and the catering is excellent.

Give the Old Course Ranfurly a chance. From the first hole it is a test but one well worth taking on. We like it.
