Niddry Castle

Course:    Niddry Castle Golf Club

Location:   Winchburgh, West Lothian

Brief description:  Once a 9 hole course, this was transformed into an 18 hole course in the early 2000's. Situated around 'Winchburgh bing', a famous landmark in West Lothian, the course is accessed the Main Street, Winchburgh and there's usually sufficient car parking. The single level clubhouse offers snacks and drinks, though for meals it does depend on your time of play.

What to expect of the course: One of the few courses that moved from a lovely wee 9 holer to a good 18 holes. The new 9, predominantly the back 9, is different to the original course but not unpleasant. Not a taxing walk, but occasionally you will find yourself criss crossing with other players. Greens are small and tricky with the opening holes testing your accuracy.

What to expect of the overall visit: Just a lovely wee course, where everyone is very pleased to see you. It's a course that offers more than you probably know, and is well worth going off the beaten track for game of golf that will give you a test and fun.
