Newtonmore

Course:  Newtonmore Golf Club

Location:  Newtonmore

Brief description: Visible from the A9 , most golfers will bypass this en route to the more famous Speyside courses or the Moray Firth. Don't do this any more! This is a lovely 18 hole Highland gem. It is relatively flat  and an easy walk and commands breathtaking views of the Cairngorms from every hole.

What to expect of the course: Newtonmore GC does not get the credit it deserves. It is a far better course than you probably have ever heard and really makes you feel good about golf. Not a long course but with sufficient trickery to keep you focused on keeping the ball in play. The scenery is breathtaking. The River Spey runs alongside the course and is a great distraction for the days where your golf game maybe didn't arrive with you 😊.

What to expect of the overall visit: A traditional clubhouse awaits your arrival, and the 1st hole whets your appetite as a relatively straightforward opening par 4. It really is an enjoyable course to play and won't ever beat you up, but will still offer you the challenge and delight that only good courses can do!
