Brief description:  A spectacular 18- hole cliff top course designed by David McLay-Kidd. The course is located 2 miles to the south of St Andrews on the road to Crail.


What to expect of the course:  A golf course with amazing views of the town of St Andrews and out to the North Sea. It can stretch to well over 7000 yards from back tees but has 4 different tee locations to suit all levels of ability. A par 72 the course has 4 par 5s, 4 par 3s and 10 par 4s. The greens are large and very undulating – bring your ‘A’ putting game!

   

What to expect of the overall visit:  Report to the Starter at the front of the clubhouse. The Castle Clubhouse provides a wonderful facility for all golfers. It has excellent changing facilities with lockers and showers and a great lounge / restaurant for meals and drinks. The clubhouse also has an excellent shop with brilliant Castle Course golf attire.

   

Other features:  Ample car parking which is close to the Driving range and short game area. There is a putting green and chipping green beside the 1st tee and the superb driving range beside the clubhouse. Trolleys available for hire. Caddies are subject to availability and should be booked in advance. The Castle Course is a brilliant addition to golf in St Andrews and is a MUST play to experience the contrast between the history and majesty of the Old Course with the modern and spectacular design presented by McLay-Kidd.
