Brief description: The 18 hole ‘1562 Course’ and the 9 hole Broomfield course are played over links land in Montrose. The courses are beside the coast looking out to the North Sea. Golf has been played here since the 1500s making it the 5th oldest course in the world.
What to expect of the course: The 1562 Course is a classic old Scottish links course which plays over 6600 yards from the back tees. Over the years it has played host to many championships. Superb variety of holes definitely a great opportunity to play the ‘running game’!
What to expect of the overall visit: Two clubs play on the links and visitors are welcome in either clubhouse (Montrose Caledonia GC or the Royal Montrose Mercantile GC). A warm welcome and fantastic golfing experience are guaranteed.
