Minto

Course:     Minto Golf Club

Location:   Minto, Roxburghshire

Brief description:  Lovely 18 hole parkland course below Minto Hill with mature trees and tree lined fairways. Not a long course with some blind shots and a need for accurate tee shots.

What to expect of the course: Minto is set on a hill but is not a taxing walk. It is not long but demands that players place their tee shots accurately on fairways to give clear shots to greens. The par threes are straightforward and par five reachable in two. Some of the greens slope quite severely so approach shots are best played below the holes. The signature hole is the 12th, named ‘Everest’. It is not as severe as might be pictured by its green is challenging. Good luck.

What to expect of the overall visit: Minto is a very pretty course. It has good car parking and a lovely clubhouse where excellent food and a warm welcome can be expected. Golfers will enjoy playing the course but remember those tricky sloping greens.
