Brief description:  On the south side of Edinburgh opposite the new Royal Infirmary, but accessed from Gilmerton Road, this course is walled in the grounds of an old country estate. Lots of parking and a stately home as a clubhouse is a lovely start to your game here. Check in at the detached Pro shop.

What to expect of the course: One of the shortest courses in Edinburgh, it will test your short game somewhat. There's enough trouble with a burn and well guarded greens/well placed bunkers that bombing the ball might not work. Whoever has the silkiest short game is likely to win the money.

What to expect of the overall visit: A modest green fee for a well kept course makes for a pleasant round here. It shouldn't take long to play and is easy to access from the City Bypass. The clubhouse is grand but there is no stuffiness and you will be made to feel at home.
