Course: Lanark Golf Club
Location: Lanark
Brief description: Within the market town of Lanark, this wonderful course has ample parking and a clubhouse that overlooks the opening and closing holes. Check in at the Pro shop and enjoy the offerings from the clubhouse menu.
What to expect of the course: You could be forgiven for thinking this is a links course that is inland. From the elevated 1st tee you look upon terrain that is not unusual at the seaside and the course plays like that all the way round. Great hole after great hole culminates in a par 3 to finish where the tee shot is made most nervous as almost always there are spectators. It's a stunning course, which is under rated as it truly is one of the best in the country.
What to expect of the overall visit: Probably surprise. You'll be surprised how good everything is. Like many hidden gems in Scotland, because this course is inland it doesn't get the attention others do, yet it's better than many. Consequently, you'll enjoy the green fee and the general pricing. Well worth a visit.
