Ladybank

Course:     Ladybank Golf Club

Location:   Ladybank, Fife

Brief description  Set next to Ladybank Railway Station and amidst a mature pine forest this Open Qualifying course is a spectacular venue quite unlike other courses in Fife, and very much in the tree lined style of Blairgowrie and Downfield. Lots of parking at the end of a single track road, that skirts the closing holes to the car park. Check in the Pro shop that is adjacent to the 1st tee.

What to expect of the course:  A relatively flat course with 18 holes of sheer excellence. Holes are separated by mature trees, though now not as heavily tree lined as it once was. New bunkering has added another fine feature to this gem. The 1st is a gentle Par 4 followed by a snaking par 5 where hazards are never far away. That sets the tone for the way around this really fantastic golf course which is set in 2 loops of 9 that start and finish outside the clubhouse. The closing 4 holes challenge you on accuracy, course management and ambition, pretty much like the rest of the course BUT they are one of the best stretches of closing holes you will play anywhere. If you start and finish with the same ball, then that is a triumph.

What to expect of the overall visit:  Ladybank comes with a reputation of quality, and that you will find from check in and most certainly the course. The large clubhouse is single level and is fine for pre and post golf refreshments. A vibrant membership and a popular course with visitors can make this a busy place, but it's well worth playing.
