Course: Kirkintilloch Golf Club
Location: Campsie Road, Kirkintilloch
Brief description: Altered since Braid’s design, Kirkintilloch is a shortish but fair 18 holes set in undulating parkland. Yardages would suggest many birdies but all play needs to be straight and considered.
What to expect of the course: Kirkintilloch is a wonderful golfing experience. Not a hard walk, short distances between greens and tees, lovely views of the Campsie Hills and a fair test at 5,800 yards. Many holes are tree lined with lots of bunkers. It offers encouragement to all levels of golfer as it is not long, the greens are great and there are some par 4s which will tempt players to try to drive them. Good luck.
What to expect of the overall visit: A lovely big car park greets visitors. Head straight for the pro shop to sign in with the helpful staff. Practice facilities are extensive here and really well thought out; ask the pro staff about them. The main lounge of the clubhouse is a relaxing space with good patio space outside. Food and beverage are first class and menus offer great value for money.
Kirkintilloch offers a great package; highly recommended.
