Brief description: A very attractive 18 hole moorland course.
Picturesque, with good views, heather, bracken and lovely trees.
What to expect of the course: Expect a course in excellent condition and a decent test. The course starts with a short par 4 which deserves respect, as does the par 3 second hole. If you see a pattern developing, you are right. The course is all about straight hitting and good course management. Enjoy the 13th hole with an approach shot over an outcrop of rock.
What to expect of the overall visit: Kilmacolm is a classy and friendly place. The clubhouse is beautifully and comfortably appointed. The pro shop is friendly, helpful and well stocked. There is an indoor golf studio and a full driving range and short game area. F&B is classy too with a great menu and lovely treats to have with tea or coffee. Kilmacolm will impress and you will want to return. It deserves all the plaudits.
