Course: Innerleithen Golf Club
Location: Innerleithen, Peebles
Brief description: Set in a valley of the Moorfoot Hills, just north of the village of Innerleithen, this 9 hole flat course is either side of the B road that takes you from Innerleithen to Gorebridge, Midlothian. A good car park and nice wee clubhouse that caters every day except Tuesday & Wednesday. There is a coffee machine and chocolate vending machine otherwise.
What to expect of the course: 9 tight holes over burns, bounded by sloping hills or the road, but with generous greens. With water never far away it can be a bit lush in the wetter weather but is a beautiful course to go to and enjoy. It's not expensive and does 9, 18 or a days golf.
What to expect of the overall visit: There is always something special about the 9 hole courses on the outskirts of Scottish villages. There was a time where every village and suburb had a course like this. The testament here is that they still have it, maintain it very well, and those 2 things alone will leave with a good feeling irrespective of how you play. It is a tranquil course in a fine setting.
