Hopeman

Course:    Hopeman Golf Club

Location:   Hopeman, Moray Firth

Brief description:  Between Burghead and Lossiemouth this is a great place to play golf. The clubhouse welcome is not as good as the golf course but that may depend on who you get welcomed by. There is a small shop within the clubhouse where you check in. A lovely wee clubhouse serves all you would expect at any golf club and which is very fairly priced.

What to expect of the course: Originally a 9 hole course this was extended to 18 where the front 9 have the majority of newer holes. The back 9 is special. Overlooking the Moray Firth every hole has a wondrous view, and lots of gorse to avoid. You will love the back 9. The front 9 is fair but does not lace the boots of what's to come and when it does, your spirits will be lifted. If not then there are umpteen distilleries within a short drive that will serve you spirit instead.

What to expect of the overall visit: A lovely golf course with some simply stunning holes. Whilst on the Moray Firth it probably doesn't get the visitors it should and that is just strange. It's not an expensive course, in fact quite modest, and it's a really good short course which you will really enjoy. The clubhouse serves food and beer, so what's not to enjoy?
