Glencorse

Course:  Glencorse Golf Club

Location:   Penicuik, Midlothian

Brief description:  Just south of Penicuik, the car park is just off the main road. There is limited parking in the car park but usually enough unless there is an event on. Check in at the Pro Shop which is adjacent to the 1st tee.

What to expect of the course: A course that will test your short game from start to finish. A short course, but demanding, with some majestic par 3's, particularly the 5th which at 200 yards and with a water carry, will get the pulse racing! There is water, blind tee shots, trees and good bunkering. If your driver is working and putter reasonably warm, you will have a good day. Then again......

What to expect of the overall visit: Glencorse produces a lot of good golfers as you have to have a good short game to succeed. It is a picturesque course and does not take you long to play, which is a bonus in this day and age. The 18th green sits right outside the clubhouse so you can spectate on those coming in behind you. Golf club fayre is available and is good. Whilst a short course, it ain't easy!
