Gairloch

Course:    Gairloch Golf Club

Location:   Gairloch Ross-Shire

Brief description:  A charming nine holes of 4200 yards. Set among rolling dunes over a lovely beach with great views to Skye, Harris and Lewis. Several holes cross each other, so players need to keep their wits about them.

What to expect of the course: Don’t be tricked into thinking this nine hole course will be ‘A bit of a skoosh.’ Gairloch has challenges for all abilities. Some tees change on the back nine offering fresh challenges on four holes. The par 5 8th/17th is the course’s longest hole with dunes and the beach to its left. The course is compact and very pretty. Just be wary of those crossing holes.

What to expect of the overall visit: A decent car park lies just off the main road through the town. The clubhouse, ‘The Links Cafe’, should be your first port of call. A friendly welcome is guaranteed as well as the possibility of home made soup and snacks. Gairloch makes the most of its compact site and welcoming clubhouse.

With lovely views and food, Gairloch is sure to leave its mark.
