Brief description: It is a tricky job to describe Falkirk Tryst as an 18 hole parkland, heathland or links course, but it is built on very sandy ground. It is lovely and flat, has great tree-lined fairways and well-sited bunkering.
What to expect of the course: 18 holes on flat, sandy land. The course starts with a lengthy par 3. It has a mixture of straight and dog-leg holes, often tree lined. In dry spells the fairways can become links-like. The final hole is a smasher with its green protected by the Chapel Burn.
What to expect of the overall visit: Good car parking near the clubhouse. Check in there. All the club staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. The course is a good test with a good mixture of holes. The course has history and respect in a town where sport has great importance.
