A burn meanders through the course, particularly the front nine before it comes back to haunt you at the 18th where it runs in front of the green. Opening with a generous par 5 the second, a tough par 3, usually reclaims any benefit you might managed at the 1st. It's a glorious course and makes you play golf. Almost every hole is different as the course sprawls across this south Edinburgh suburb.
