Course: Dougalston Golf Club

Location: Milngavie, Glasgow

Brief description: Dougalston is an excellent parkland course, set within 300 acres of mature woodland and natural water features. 

What to expect of the course: A tough test of golfing ability, and at times fitness, this one is definitely worth a visit. The course design is outstanding, cleverly using the abundant natural features to create 18 very different and challenging holes. There are a few very steep climbs here and there, so be prepared for that.

What to expect of the overall visit: There’s plenty of parking at the clubhouse, which is also part of a large fitness centre. Visit the small Pro Shop on the ground floor to check in. After your round, there's a comfortable cafe upstairs in the fitness centre serving an extensive menu and Costa coffee. Dougalston is a relatively new course at just over 20 years old, it's maturing nicely and does have some rough edges, but you won't find a better value green fee.
