Course: Craigmillar Park
Location: Edinburgh
Brief description: Famed for the 72 hole open at the start of each season, once won by Sir Nick Faldo. Adequate parking and check in at the Pro Shop.
What to expect of the course: The course follows the natural contours with some blind holes, and some very picturesque holes. OOB is never very far away along with other hazards such as burns and rough. A relatively short course but not without trouble!
What to expect of the overall visit: In the shadow of the Edinburgh Observatory, and overlooking Arthurs Seat, this course is very enjoyable, has some fine views and does not beat you up. The clubhouse overlooks the opening and closing holes where you can reflect with some fine golf club grub.
