Colonsay

Course:    Colonsay Golf Club

Location:   Isle of Colonsay

Brief description:  Golf on Colonsay is a unique experience, one for the adventurer. 18 holes formed on the machair and very natural and beautiful. Two burns weave their way through the course and form bays. There are no bunkers.

What to expect of the course: In the golf season the fairways and greens are mowed. Preferred lies are always in play on the fairways or when a lie is affected by wildlife. The signature hole is the par 5 seventh, ‘The Fank’, where a shot into the airfield site is deemed ‘out of bounds’.

Golf on Colonsay may not be about the scoring but about the views, the natural terrain and the peacefulness.

What to expect of the overall visit: There is no clubhouse. Greenfees can be paid at the hotel or the estate office. There is also an honesty box at the bench by the first tee. All of this adds to the charm of golf on Colonsay.

If you enjoy your golf in a natural, unhurried, peaceful environment, play Colonsay and fill your heart with memories.
