Course: Burntisland Golf House Club
Location: Burntisland, Fife
Brief description: The course overlooks the town and enjoys views over The Forth to Edinburgh and up to the Forth’s bridges. The main architects have had a hand in its formation on land long used for golf.
What to expect of the course: 18 holes stretching to 6000 yards, described as parkland but with a links feel in places. The course is largely flat with sloping fairways on holes 7, 9, 10 and 11. Control is key as there are a number of OOBs, a pond, a quarry, gorse and trees. There is a good mix of holes with one or two quirky challenges.
What to expect of the overall visit: From the car park check in at the pro shop. The staff are first class; friendly, helpful and informative in a well stocked shop. The clubhouse too is a welcoming place with excellent F&B at good prices.
A good golf course, friendly staff and members, great views……all on the World’s tenth oldest golfing grounds.
