Course: Brechin Golf Club
Location: Trinity, Brechin, DD9 7PD
Brief description: Glimpses of the course from the A90 give little idea what a wonderful experience Brechin is. The course is varied and challenging with holes which are pleasing to the eye. The course is set on either side of the A90 and is well kept and presented. It’s Par 3 holes are memorable with some becoming par 4s from the back tees.
What to expect of the course: Many of the holes at Brechin run parallel with the A90 but that is hardly noticed. There are some holes which present similar challenges but that does not seem to matter. Some holes require a bit of local knowledge but that is true of many courses. Brechin is well-maintained with good greens and views. Bunkers contain course sand but play fairly.
What to expect of the overall visit: The golf club is easy to find, has adequate parking and the clubhouse is a welcoming, comfortable place to visit. The pro shop caters for golfers’ needs, the catering is very good and the atmosphere relaxed. A combination of course and clubhouse make Brechin a very good day out.
