Course: Braid Hills

 Location: Edinburgh

 Brief description: On the south side of Edinburgh, this 27 hole municipal venue is possibly the best value for money in the country. Park on the road outside the course and check in at the starter.

 What to expect of the course: There is an 18 hole course that is an absolute belter. Gorse, small fast greens and tight fairways demand accuracy. Its short, really good fun but you can score anything if you’re a bit wild. The 9 hole course (Braids 2) is a smaller version with blind holes and small targets. Great fun

 What to expect of the overall visit: Anyone who has played the Braids always goes back. Great courses, great value and great views of Edinburgh.
