Course:   Barra Golf Club

Location:   Isle of Barra

Brief description:  The most westerly golf course in the British Isles and mainland. Single track roads lead to the 1st tee and check in at the cabin. Parking is plentiful on the grassy terrain.

What to expect of the course: This is golf as it once was! Greens are fenced off to warn the wandering sheep, and occasionally cows. The tees point in the direction of the greens and the ground between is managed mostly by the appetite of livestock. It's an adventure that you'll remember for all the right reasons and challenges your imagination from start to finish. You've come this far - just enjoy it!

What to expect of the overall visit: Don't expect a manicured course. You're coming to a course that is locally managed and  is there  mainly to allow locals and occasional visitors a chance to play golf. The game doesn't change, as you need to position tee shots and target the greens - if you do that well enough, that will add to your adventure on the most westerly course you can play!
