Ballochmyle

Course:   Ballochmyle Golf Club

Location:   Mauchline, Ayrshire

Brief description:  18 holes in the heart of ‘Burns Country.’

Nearly 6,000 yards of sloping parkland with strong par 4s and the last hole, the only par 5, ‘Waurslin Hame.’

What to expect of the course: An 18 hole parkland course on a sloping site. It has tight fairways and compact greens. The course might not impress early on but the back nine has tons of character and challenge.

Ballochmyle is a very bonny course, not of the stature of the famous Ayrshire courses, but well worth playing none the less.

What to expect of the overall visit: Many golfers have not heard of Ballochmyle but it is well signposted out of Mauchline and is built on the old Ballochmyle Estate. The clubhouse has good views over the course and offers excellent F&B. You will enjoy Ballochmyle and may drive away afterwards singing to yourself in your best Burns style….“Fairwell to the Braes of Ballochmyle.”
