Brief description: 18 holes of wonderful heathland in Royal Deeside with a few parkland characteristics. The charismatic River Dee runs close to a number of holes. There is real Highland atmosphere at Ballater.
What to expect of the course: Set in beautiful Deeside this 18 hole, 6100 yard gem is made up of a mixture of heathland and parkland. The Dee is nearby and several holes feature river terraces. The course has a tough start, lovely scenery and a welcoming feel. Enjoy the Bonny par 3 5th and the 9th, guarded by a ridge, and finally, the tricky final hole.
What to expect of the overall visit: From the car park, report in at the pro shop for advice and a friendly welcome. The clubhouse is a classy building with excellent F&B and friendly atmosphere. Ballater is typical of Highland golf: beautiful, serene and, in places, a little bit quirky. Don’t drive by, you will miss a real gem.
