Course: Aboyne Golf Club
Location: Aboyne, Aberdeenshire
Brief description: A popular, well maintained course with a backdrop of pine forests and mountains. An outward nine of parkland style and an inward nine of heathland feel.
What to expect of the course: The oldest club in Royal Deeside, the course, on its present site, has evolved over the years, with new holes added as recently as 1990.
Aboyne makes the most of the natural variations in its terrain. Mature trees and water are in play on many holes. The holes are memorable, it’s soil is free draining, the views spectacular and potential wild life spotting exciting indeed.
What to expect of the overall visit: A good car park and impressive modern clubhouse greet visitors. Report to the well stocked, friendly pro shop. Two practice areas are available for preparation. Wildlife will probably feature in visits to Aboyne - keep your eyes and ears peeled. Aboyne is a very friendly, welcoming club and is really worth a visit as a warm, friendly course and clubhouse experience.
